Last updated: April 2026
Prineville Insurance is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards to help users with disabilities access our website and services.
Conformance Status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Our website strives to conform with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We completed a comprehensive accessibility review in April 2026 and implemented the improvements described below.
Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following accessibility features on our website:
- Skip to main content link — visible on keyboard focus, allowing screen reader and keyboard users to bypass the navigation
- Semantic HTML landmarks —
header, nav, main, andfooterroles are explicitly set for screen reader navigation - ARIA navigation labels — the primary navigation has
aria-label="Main navigation"; the mobile menu dialog hasrole="dialog"andaria-modal - Dropdown ARIA attributes — all mega-menu triggers include
aria-haspopup,aria-expanded, andaria-controls - Form labels — all contact and quote form fields have visible
<label>elements with explicithtmlFor/idassociations - Error announcements — form validation errors use
role="alert"andaria-describedbyto be announced by screen readers - Alternative text — all informative images have descriptive
altattributes; decorative icons havearia-hidden="true" - Color contrast — text contrast ratios meet or exceed the 4.5:1 WCAG AA requirement throughout the site
- Touch targets — all interactive elements meet the 44×44px minimum touch target size on mobile
- Pinch-zoom enabled — the viewport meta tag does not restrict user scaling
- Keyboard navigation — all interactive elements are reachable and operable via keyboard
- Focus indicators — visible focus rings are present on all focusable elements
- Resizable text — the layout remains functional when text is resized up to 200%
- Non-render-blocking fonts — Google Fonts load asynchronously to avoid blocking page rendering
Known Limitations
Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility of our website, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations, and potential solutions. Please contact us if you observe an issue not listed below.
- Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are working to update these documents.
- Some video content may not have captions. We are working to add captions to all video content.
- Some third-party embedded content (such as maps) may not meet all accessibility standards.
